Bethesda, MD - In-situ rehabilitation and deep sealing of concrete columns has been completed at the parking facility located at the National Navy Medical Center.

In cooperation with FDE, Ltd., Washington based structural engineers, McMullan & Associates, determined that the concrete deterioration was caused by a combination of deicing salts and freeze-thaw damage. The PermeNewal^tm Permeation Injection Process was used to successfully restore integrity of the affected concrete and thus averted the need for demolition and reconstruction. The vacuum permeation method applied to the columns caused minimal disruption to the facilities and other contractors performing work at the project site.
